I am ready and willing to meet new people
If you are unwilling to meet new people then there is not much The Transition can do to help you meet your goals or dreams. Most people’s goals can not be accomplished by their own actions alone and thus need others to assist them either through instruction or mutual aid.
I have skills that I am willing to share
If you are unwilling to share your own skills it is then likely others are not willing to share their own skills with you to assist you and your goals. The Transition operates off of a system of reciprocity we are all able to accomplish more when we work together. When we change our own paradigms from a “me” to a “we” mindset we begin to experience the abundance that is all around us. The more self-centered we act the harder it becomes for us to reach the dreams we desire.
I know about non-violent communication or I watched this video
Just like when using a map if we don’t know where we currently are there is no way for us to begin to understand where it is we are heading. By reading and/or watching the video you begin to understand the mindset and upbringing you carry with you. By going through this process, you begin to realize that other people may have had experiences that helped form who they are today. This helps us develop compassion both for ourselves and each other. It also gives us a set of tools to help us negotiate new experiences now and in the future.
I am ready and willing to participate in The Transition
With each new supporter and Contributor The Transition acquires, the more power we gain to create a major impact and real positive change on the world at large. Even though you are one person your actions matter when done in conjunction with countless others all over the world. The Transition plugs you into the countless ways you can help make that difference you wish to see in the world.
I am invested in improving my education
As an organization, The Transition believes in continuing education no matter how young or old you are. There is always more to learn and always a new lens with which we can begin to view the world to have better understanding of the challenges we face. By investing in your education and challenging your own beliefs, you are able to arm yourself with knowledge to be the best version of yourself.
I have reviewed and endorsed The Transition’s Trust
It is our desire for everyone to be “on the same page” and understand the expectations laid out before them as well as the commitments that are being made to them. By reviewing this information you acknowledge the type of relationship that is being established between the organization as a whole and you as a beneficiary of the work we do.
I have read Get off Your BUTs
People tend to come into any project with a lot of preconceived notions of both the project in which they are involved as well as their own abilities they bring with them. We do not want anyone to be a roadblock to their own visions and want you to bring the very best of yourself so that you can fulfill and bring to life your own passion projects.
I have Set My Intention
To reach any goal, it is key to set an intention and this handy tool reminds you of this intention sometime in the future to see if your actions did in fact align with your values. It’s a great way to keep yourself on track and to fully understand the path and direction you are going.
I have reviewed and agree to follow the Standards
Standards matter because the people we deal with on a day to day basis need to know they can trust and feel supported by us as we continue to do the work we are all doing to make the world a better place. By following these standards we all hold ourselves accountable.
I have discovered which volunteer roles I can fulfill
There is much work to be done and often not enough finances to compensate individuals to do that work. However, The Transition Inter-Community Network is not a community that focuses on utilizing the monetary system. We see the value in mutual aid because we know when we give freely, our generosity comes full circle back to us in some shape or form. We work to better ourselves and by default the rest of society as well.
I have helped The Transition Spread the Word by referring one new website user
A key fundamental skill people must have in order to make any project come to fruition is the ability to communicate to others your idea and how it relates to their own interests. When a person is able to effectively talk to others about The Transition and get them more actively involved, it helps them in turn build the skills they need to develop and grow their own personal projects. No matter whether you are an introvert or extrovert this is a deeply needed skill for anyone wanting to create social change on any level (micro or macro). By growing The Transition and getting more people involved, you are by default assisting yourself as well. When more people join, you broaden our network, recruit new people with new skill sets, strengths, and expertise and also increase the resources we need to assist people’s projects including your own. Just like in the story of Stone Soup, by helping The Transition, you are supplying yourself an abundance of offerings that also helps yourself.
I have reviewed my phase experience with my Point Person
This step has been very rewarding for those following the Action Plan as well as The Transition Team members who serve as Point People. By going through this step, we ensure everyone has taken the steps needed to become more involved and educated as well as gain new insight and expertise as to how doing these steps has influenced each user’s life personally as well as professionally. With this information, we are better able to assist other users and give them anecdotal experiences of others who have experienced the steps before them. By working together, we become stronger.
If not then leave us a suggestion on how it can be improved
