I don't agree with this as it will deter most people, (especially those already in business) from joining us.

The only hope for developing a new civilization is to accept responsibility for improving our lives through knowledge, understanding, and a deeper comprehension of humanity’s relationship to natural processes of evolution. And a good business plan.

Here's how a typical visit to thetransition.org goes for me, which typically leaves me discouraged before I can ever actually take any action that I came here for in the first place: 1) Coming from a History link, bookmark, or external shared link (typically NOT the home page). 2) Page loads, then immediately I get the full-screen pop-up asking for my email. I'm a member, have been a member for years, cookies are supposed to make this NOT happen, but they don't. Every visit between browser sessions forgets my login status and treats me like a new visitor. So now, I have nothing to do but click "Take me to a podcast." 3) Podcast page loads. Fullscreen popup appears AGAIN. I click "take me to the podcast." 4) Podcast page reloads. Now I have to remember where the hell I was trying to go in the first place... if I remember to log in here, I can get straight to where I wanted to go by pasting the URL in or finding the internal link for it. If I FORGET to log in, I get asked to log in. The site's platform doesn't remember where I was *going* when it asked me to log in. So I log in, then it takes me to a default post-login page (Take Action, maybe). If I go BACK to the page that had the link, it forgets I'm logged in! Eventually I get there by going back, copying the link URL, logging in again, and pasting the URL. 5) I'm frustrated & don't feel like doing whatever it was that I came here for. I leave the page up for later. If it's any long amount of time (a few hours, or closing & reopening my browser), I start back over at step 1 above. ლ(ಠ益ಠლ) I assume these are platform-level issues and NationBuilder needs to fix it to allow more intuitive, less cumbersome navigation. It's definitely not user friendly for someone with a lot of technical ability, so I'm guessing it is really hurting those who don't have that. Possible partial solution: landing page overlay could be enabled only on certain URLs that don't require login creds, or where new users are expected to show up. I think if anyone has the link for My Action Plan and is going straight to it, they're probably already a member & don't need to be bugged again by the popup, navigation away from, log-in, then manually back to their page.

Please seriously consider making a new video with a) lower volume b) a different more quiet-mellow backing song.

1. I feel by using the site I will find my "tribe" or group of people whose values resonate strongly with mine. When I do, I intend to start an intentional community with them which will help elevate the stress and need for money due to us working together reducing all of our overall costs. I feel reducing this stress will help other aspects of my life improve as well. 2. I intend to be actively engaged with Transition supporters and Contributors on a daily basis. 3. While I am not adverse to hard work and have done plenty for The Transition already I feel real momentum will happen when our team expands. 4. Yes, I truly believe carrying out this project is my life's purpose. 5. Through pooled funds of monthly contributions as well as targeted crowd-funding campaigns when tangible needs and skill-set options are not available via the site's existing resources. 6. Both 7. Yes 8. Yes 9. It has already changed me as a person in numerous ways. 10. Slow until more consistent and dependable volunteers are available. 11. Yes

You will find a lot of these television shows are available on Hulu or Netflix which are platform typically accessible only by US residents. If you are from another country other than the US please try to find these shows on other platforms that are accessible for your home country. Once you have found those resources please send them to our Contact page along with information about what countries are able to view the film from that platform. By working together to meet our needs, we can accomplish more!

Take Note:  Hosting viewing parties of these shows along with panels of “experts” to answer questions at the end of each episode, are very effective for community events. Talks by experts in their field regarding the topic of these shows can also be very inspiring. Articles in local papers, interviews on local radio, presentations to existing groups, including schools, are also a good way to get people aware of the issues facing our world today, and get them ready to start thinking of solutions.

At this time he was already aware about my personal values and how they align with his own due to being my Facebook friend. He also knew about my affiliation with The Transition since he was part of our Facebook group when we were doing research and development for our website and recruiting beta testers. However, he never became a beta tester or migrated over when we shut down our temporary Facebook group page once our website was launched. My comment demonstrates to him exactly what he needs to do to get what it is he says he wants in his status. Our website was designed specifically for people exactly like him! Everyone needs a fellow "crazy dancing person". Your Action Plan was designed to do just that! 

Many others replied to his thread as well. One of them commented a question directly below his "call to arms"to which I replied.

After reading my response Loraine then "liked" my comment. My one comment by default could potentially have an impact on getting Loraine back involved with The Transition and maybe inspire his FB friend Peter to get involved as well. As interest builds on this thread  many other folks may find themselves ready to take action too. When people ask questions or vent their concerns answer the "call", direct them to where they need to go to make their dreams and aspirations happen.

I am new to the site and clicked on the ImagiNATION CO-OPeration tab and it logged me out. I contacted the Help Desk who explained that I need to be a Contributor to access the page. IMHO, most people will think that it is a glitch and leave the page. From a usability standpoint, a message that tells the user that they need to be a contributor to access the content of the page, and have the contributor sign up appear on the page. (or at the very least, a link to the contributor sign up page)

The Transition is in need of a project leader for a Micro-Job site that we would like to have for our supporters to utilize.  We were thinking of using the software that is here, however, we are open to alternatives.  We expect this project to take around 80 hours to setup and continuous support for 1 year as our supporters learn how to use the software.  The requirements of this position include the following:

• Able to communicate effectively with the The Transition team
• Knowledge of setting up and configuring complex web applications
• Can put together a schedule and follow through with it
• Can commit to supporting the software, which includes bug fixes or other issues that may arise, for up to 1 year

This is a Volunteer/Consultant position. This person will be expected to meet all requirements of being a Transition Team member if their desire is to become a full time Transition Team member.
