Phase 0 -“Seed Phase”

Purpose:

YOU establish philosophies for a better future. These are formed based on knowing how things are in relation to how you feel they acorn_seed.jpgshould be.

Physical:

At least one of 4 scenarios happen:

  • You take no action.
  • You find others like yourself but take no meaningful action.
  • You find others like yourself who want to take action.
  • You find a means to implement action either individually or within a group.

Social:

  • You, and others like you, become unsettled by the constant societal pressures of the status quo and the direction society is going.

Intellectual:

  • You educate yourself on the current systems in place as well as research possible solutions.  You ask yourself, “What can be done to change our current situation?”

Diet

Diets are so personal that you are not likely to overlook this one, unless you don't have a particular diet but the potential Home-mate does. If you aren't planning to share food, the diet of your Home-mate may not make a difference, but then again it might. For instance if you are vegetarian, how do you feel about the smell of meat cooking? Can you live with it? Consider also your attitude toward food, can you live with someone who has a completely different diet from you? Can you live with someone who cooks foreign cuisines with interesting smells? Does foreignness attract you or repel you? Maybe you never eat at home and whatever your Home-mate does makes no difference to you at all.

Safety

What does "safe" mean to you? For many people, safe means that one can walk and/or drive in the neighbourhood without fear. One way to learn about a neighbourhood is to ask the local police. Call the station and talk to the person who answers the phone.

If you do not like police another way to check on the area's safety is to review the information provided for the town you are looking at moving to on City-Data if you are looking at places in the US.
